In this Ted Talk the lady, Alecia talked about dreams. Not like in the dreams in our sleep, but like what we hope for and what we dream of for the future. She talked about her dreams from when she was younger and also other people's story and their dreams were shared. One girls story was how she lived in poverty and in the time of ebola her family got sick from the disease. She dreamed of being a nurse so she did what she could to help them. Now she is getting a scholarship and on her way to be a nurse. This lady is a hero in her story! Another story was about a man in Uganda that didn't have a very good schooling education and even saw his own teacher die in front of his eyes. Even though these negative things happened these people didn't let those circumstances stop them or hold them back from dreaming. What she wanted out of her talk was that we dream together to partner up to make a difference and also dream what we want and be passionate about it.
The video was about 13 min, and dragged on for a few min but it was good and it did make me think a bit. She talked about two people's stories about how they didn't grow up with the right resources and lived in bad conditions, but they didn't want to live by that to stop them from dreaming, having a career or even helping others with similar situations! So, I think that's great, even though some people don't have idols to look up to and dream like them or even have had a bad childhood, they should make the best of it and dream to be something greater. You shouldn't make excuses to not dream or to try to do something that seems tough. Even though there was negativity in their life they stayed positive! We all have, had or will have dreams of our own.
